I'm moving out of our 5-person group house after 4+ years. The house is technically located in a community known as Bluemont, which is about a mile outside of Ballston off Wilson Blvd. It has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (W/D included). Lots of side yard for barbecues, fire pit and games to play outdoors. There is a 2 car driveway, but there is plenty of parking along the street.
The room is roughly 14 x 12 with a good amount of closet space (I have a full-sized bed that fits perfectly). I should be completely out of the room by 12/10 (so you can move-in on that date or later). The current lease for the house runs until June 30, 2020. The rent for my room is $714/month (goes up $7-$12/yr). The utilities are split evenly and can run from $125 - $150/month depending on the season (that includes Verizon Fios internet and cable w/ HBO). The individual taking my spot will handle the Water/Sewage bill. While the room is yours, you will share a bathroom with one other person. Unfortunately, no cats or dogs.
About your potential future roommates: All males primarily in their mid-20s, while the oldest is 31. They all have different types jobs and went to different schools (e.g. an Architect (Tulane), IT Guy (Pitt), Finance (VT) and a Govvie/Non-Profit (UVA). During the week it is fairly relaxed, they typically like to watch various TV shows, movies and sports (football/college basketball) in the living room. During the weekends they may go out together in Clarendon, do their own thing or enjoy an occasional poker game at the house.
You: They are open to having a male or female roommate, but no couples/individuals sharing one room. If you feel that you may potentially be a fit and are interested in seeing the house, please reply with some information regarding yourself.
If selected as the next roommate, you will need to sign a sub-lease and the landlord will require you to provide a credit report and recent pay stub. There would be a $530 security deposit to hold the room.
